Yearbook Cover by sucksophone Yearbook Cover by sucksophone
this one is the biggest vector-based image i have ever created so far
it's used in my yearbook cover, and i'm really proud of it:)

- done in 1day, only take a break when i eat or take a leak
- fully vectorized image
- final touch using texture (really helped enhacing the colours
)

This is such an awesome cover design, just one question. On the back page there are white and orange swirls, just wondering if this was a brush set or not. If so would you mind telling me where you got it? Thanks!

gee thanks:)

i don't know if this helps, but if you're new with vector try to vectorize simple photos like fruits (i'm not familiar with illustrator so i use pen tool in photoshop instead). try to add shades, shadows, and light source to make your fruit looks 3dimensional.

my first vector based image was a car (the one mr.bean used if i'm not mistaken). i found the tutorial on the net and it was very, very frustrating..

ps. try browse dA for better tutorial:p

thanks ;) luckily I have some months to get the whole thing together. I had no idea what i was getting into when i signed up for that. We have a very big school, and none of them has sent in any pictures yet. So now my group has to go and take pictures of them in class ;) that should be intresting. I dont think i am the one who is going to do the front page, but nobody at my school wanted to do anything. My school reeks of laziness.

that's even more reason for you to do it then!
you just have to taste the feeling when your piece is on the yearbook, and everybody has it. not to mention it's the front cover! it was so overwhelming i think i was actually crying that day.

okay i wasn't.
but i was very very happy back then. everybody liked the cover and i am so full of myself...hahaha...

please let me know when your yearbook cover is done. i would really love to see it:)

thanks :) i do hope i get to do it. Im not sure if anyone else is doing it. I think there was one guy that wanted to do it. But if i already had one made, and if it was better that his, they have no choice. anyway, i would love to learn this style anyway. it is beutiful!

o______o This is really cool. I love how the "f" in "free" goes through the "break". And all of the designs are wicked cool. (:
